If you’ve recently been on a walk or heard a talk by Ron, we’d be delighted to hear what you thought.

Here are some of the nice things being said

Great walk, thanks Ron.
Pleasure to meet you.
Take care.
All best

Amy

Hi Ron,

A big thank you for your work leading the ‘Darker side of the don’ walk yesterday evening. I think everyone thoroughly enjoyed hearing about the history of the area and the horror stories of the river! I believe quite a few of the folk there are keen to attend your blitz walk!

All the best

Sally

Hi Ron,

It was grand. Thanks so much! We’ll sort out another one after Christmas.

Best wishes.

Jane

Thanks Ron very good news and I loved seeing you on your walk xx

Vanessa Toulmin

Hi Ron

Just listened to your interview and as usual you put a very good front to Sheffield

Malcolm

“Quirky and thought-provoking”

Mavis

Good to see you in good form.

Thanks for the great day yesterday, Ron. I really enjoyed it. I will, no
doubt, see you again at some point.

Mick.

Hi Ron,
Thanks for hosting the walk on Sunday, all my colleagues have been in touch and asked me to pass on their thanks. They all found it fascinating.
Mike Hensman

Ron is a proud Sheffielder and is extremely knowledgeable about local history.

Councillor Sylvia Dunkley
Current Lord Mayor Of Sheffield

I’d like to say a big thank you on behalf of the international students you took on a guided walk around Sheffield. They loved your witty commentary and you showed them things they never would have noticed otherwise. It’s one of the most popular sessions on our British Life and Culture module and they all think you’re great, (even if they don’t like Henderson’s Relish!)

University Lecturer

On behalf of the 10 to 1 club, it is my pleasure to endorse your history tours of which we have had the pleasure of your company on several different occasions. Always entertaining and informative, your knowledge of Sheffield is amazing. On our latest tour we ended up at the Old Queen’s Head and a unique landlord’s welcome which rivalled the open fire on a snowy day.

Monica Murray
10 to 1 Sheffield Walking And Social Group

Ron, I want to say a BIG thank you for your guided tour of Sheffield last Sunday, we had a wonderful insight into your town & the group were very happy to see everything.

James Edwards

Now the dust has settled slightly I just want to say a big thank you for running the fascinating walk around Sheffield and sharing your knowledge of Sheffield’s Tudor and Stuart history. The biggest thrill for me was seeing the remains of Sheffield Castle. Everyone on the walk seemed to really enjoy it and gain something from it. We could probably have sold the walk twice over. Thank you again for your contribution which helped to make the Highlighting History weekend so successful

I have not had a chance to thank you for your event as part of the food festival. It was really interesting and the audience enjoyed it very much indeed. I thought giving people pictures worked really well. Thank you very much for doing that event for us

Lesley

Many thanks on behalf of all those who attended the trip around last Thursday. I’ve had very positive feedback and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it, and didn’t realise what they had missed and was virtually under their noses. It sounds like they’ll be up for another dose later in the year.

You brought the city alive for us – with your eye for detail, knowledge of history and communication skills you ought to be on TV.

Thanks once again for the tour. I enjoyed it very much.

Martin K Goodman

Very much enjoyed the tour on Saturday!

Carolyn Waudby

Thanks very much for your interesting and informative tour of Sheffield. The conference delegates really enjoyed seeing the town and learning some of its history. Having lived in West Yorkshire most of my life, it was great to learn so much about a town so close but about which I knew so little.

Just to say a big Thanks for the tour on Saturday. If you run this tour again will you let me know as my Dad would love to do it. He’s 87 but never seen the Castle.

Ann

Thanks for a great tour!

Ron Yes, we did enjoy it, thank you. Sorry about the disorganisation, we should have had your piece first. Anyway, it has whet my appetite for more information.

Pamela

Hi Ron Thank you so much for a lovely walk. Everyone who attended seemed to really enjoy the event we hope that you did too. We were so lucky to have such nice weather particularly after the horrendous weather in the morning. Thanks for coping with the extra numbers.

Hi Ron, Thank you for the write up in the Star! I have to say my partner, who was also involved in the project, but whom you never met, is miffed he didn’t get a mention!

Cora

Hi Ron,

Lovely comments Ron-means a lot to me when your Friends and colleagues recognise your work and you more than others. It has made my day. By the way my 2 daughters have spread the word around social media how proud they are of their Dad-that brought a tear to my eyes. All in all it has been a wonderful week and so glad I persevered through thick and thin to complete it.

All the best and sincere thanks once again

David

I heard your event was great. Let us know about any events coming up you would like us to help publicise.
